Last weekend we went to a fantastic Halloween festival at Neighborhood Schoolhouse, a small private school in Brattleboro. Zoe loved every minute of it. She painted a pumpkin, jumped in a bouncy house, got her face painted, made a scarecrow, walked the labyrinth, went through the haunted house, visited with fairies in a magical pumpkin patch, and befriended every ghost, ghoul, and witch she could find. She has no idea that she should be afraid of ghosts and ghouls, so she just thought all the creatures were cute and fun - amazing!
She loved having her face painted, and asked to be painted like a polar bear. The colors matched her chef costume perfectly!
Zoe specifically requested that she and her Baba get their picture taken with this plastic jack'o'lantern & black cat. She loved it!
Above, Zoe embraces the scarecrow that we made. We took it home, and she has been treating it like a life-sized doll.
Zoe befriended this ghoul, and she spent a good long time just holding its cold green hand before she was ready to continue our walk to the labyrinth.
At the labrynth, Zoe made friends with this witch. She particularly liked her shoes. Since I grew too old to go trick or treating, I haven't been that interested in Halloween, but I have really been enjoying all facets of the holiday this year. It's totally magical to see it all again through the eyes of a child!
