Big smiles

As you can see, Zoe has become an expert at smiling. Everywhere we go, she charms people with her big smiles. We hear this may slow down soon (stranger anxiety often starts around 6 months), so we are enjoying it while we can. She is busy learning to sit up right now, which is hard work! She is also very focused on trying to crawl, and we think she'll figure it out soon. She's 5 months old, which is pretty early for crawling, but Ginnie told us that Lester started crawling at 6 months and it seems as if she's going to take after her dad. She is able to push up her whole upper body and she is able to get up on her knees, so it's just a matter of putting these two movements together. It's so amazing watching her work to learn all these things that we adults take for granted. She has also started true babbling (consonant sounds). For the longest time her favorite noise was a long, throaty "aaaahhhh," but now that sound is gone and she has moved on to "ma ma ma." She is also enjoying making raspberrries, which is a lot of fun!
